The City’s Parkland and Recreation Master Plan includes a number of recommendations for developing parks and recreational opportunities in Belleville over the next 10 years. The City will be undertaking a number of improvement projects to existing parks and playground facilities over the next several years to fill identified gaps and areas for improvement.

| Clarence Bird Park |
| Funding for a new multi-use court at Clarence Bird Park (6 Hampton Ridge Dr.) in 2026. We want your input on which sports you would like to see included, accessibility requirements and park features for this new court. Take our online survey by May 1 to have your say! Public consultation centres will also be held on April 22 and 30 (4–6 p.m. at Parkdale Community Centre) to gather additional input. |
| Elgin Parkette |

Elgin Parkette was identified as a gap in the Parkland and Recreation Master Plan, where a playground would be a welcomed addition to the surrounding community. Staff undertook a public engagement process at the beginning of 2025 to gauge what residents would like to see in a new playground in the form of an online survey and virtual public meeting. Construction is now complete and the playground was opened to the public in October of 2025. |
| Riverstone Park |
| The City worked alongside the developer in 2025 to install trees, trail paving/connection and a 3v3 basketball court in Riverstone Subdivision. |
| Parking Lot Improvements |
|
The recreational trail and facilities at Parkdale Veterans Park, and parking lot at the Quinte Rowing Club received paving improvements in 2025 to provide structure, flow and enhance accessibility at both locations. |
| Thurlow Park |
| Through a collaborative effort between the Quinte Cricket Association and the City of Belleville, a cricket pitch has been funded and installed between the two most easterly soccer fields at the park in 2025. |
| Shirley Langer Recreational Trail |
| Phase one of the newly established Shirley Langer Recreational Trail was completed in 2021. Phase two which included the installation and construction of cross-country skiing and snow shoe trails for winter recreation and rough terrain cycling during other seasons, was completed in 2024. |
| Riverside Park West |
| Work at Riverside Park West included the installation of a BMX Pump Track and skills development area which were opened to the public in 2023 and 2024. |
| Clifford Sonny Belch Park (formally Hillcrest Park) |
| The development of Clifford Sonny Belch Park (formerly Hillcrest Park) included the addition of eight pickleball courts, two 3v3 basketball courts, a skate dot, a picnic shelter, splashpad, playground, trail establishment and paving, landscaping and tree planting, as well as other park amenities. Work at the park was completed in 2025. |
| Potter's Creek |
| The City completed improvements to Potter's Creek Park in 2024, including the installation of a new tennis and pickleball court with sport lighting. |
