Voters

The next Belleville municipal election will be held on October 26, 2026.

Voters will be able to cast their ballots through Internet and Telephone during the Voting Period starting Oct. 15 at 9 a.m. until Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. In addition, paper ballots will be available at the Voter Assistance Centres prior to Election Day.

More information on how to vote and Voter Assistance Centre locations and hours will be provided later this summer.

Who Can Vote

You can vote if you:

  • Are a Canadian citizen
  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Live in Belleville, or own or rent property in the city (or are the spouse of an owner or tenant)
  • Are not prohibited from voting under any law

The following are prohibited from voting:

  • a person who is serving a sentence of imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution;
  • a corporation;
  • a person acting as executor or trustee or in any other representative capacity; and
  • a person who was convicted of the corrupt practice, if voting day in the current election is less than five years after voting day in the election in respect of which they were convicted.

Voters' List

Elections Ontario is responsible for maintaining the Permanent Register of Electors for Ontario, commonly known as the Voters' List. You must be on the voters’ list to vote. 

Check or update your information prior to Election Day to ensure you are registered to vote.

When and Where to Vote

Voting dates, times and locations will be provided prior to Election Day. Check back here for updates.

When voting, please ensure you bring identification that shows your name and qualifying address in Belleville. Acceptable ID is outlined on the Province of Ontario's website.
