Explore the Core - Downtown Business Opportunities Event
Business opportunities are growing in downtown Belleville and the City of Belleville and Belleville Downtown Improvement Area are partnering with the Quinte Small Business Centre to showcase those opportunities this month.
The heart of our City will be opening its doors and showcasing existing thriving businesses as well as rental and investment opportunities during the Explore the Core event on Tuesday October 29. Business owners, investors and entrepreneurs are invited to visit with local business owners who continue to succeed in business and talk with individuals and organizations that are ready to help you and your downtown business idea succeed.
Explore the Core is being held at the Belleville Library on October 29th starting at 10:00 a.m. with Keynote Speaker Pierre Cliché, author of Business Strategies for Downtown & Rural Merchants. The keynote speaker will be followed by a lunch generously supplied by downtown businesses.
“The City is investing in infrastructure renewal in the downtown and now is the time for businesses and investors to take advantage of opportunities here,” said Sarah Tummon, Executive Director of the BDIA. “We are thrilled to be partnering with the QSBC on this business recruitment initiative as it gives us an opportunity to really showcase all the advantages a downtown location has.”
Special Guest Mayor Neil Ellis of the City of Belleville will discuss the redevelopment of the City Centre Project as part of the BuildBelleville program and Belleville City staff will be on hand to provide detailed information on the Façade Improvement Grant program, Tax Incentive Rebate Program and various loan options that are unique to downtown Belleville.
Explore the Core will include a walking tour of downtown including an opportunity to tour available properties and talk with existing business owners.
“We want to invite anyone who has ever considered investing in or operating a business in downtown Belleville to come out and discover all this special area of our community has to offer,” said Charlene Bessin, Business Counselor with the QSBC.
