United Way Hastings & Prince Edward Achievement Breakfast
This community is generous both with their time and their donations. After pulling together to raise money for over 75 local programs, there are a lot of people to thank! The Achievement Breakfast is just one way that the United Way can honour those community members that have worked tirelessly on their behalf. Exemplary awards for titles like Volunteer of the Year are presented and United Way recognizes workplaces that have gone above and beyond in their employee giving campaigns. The Achievement Breakfast receives a lot of media attention as it is the official announcement of the amount of money raised in the 2017 campaign.
Keynote Speaker: As our Achievement Keynote Speaker, we are excited to welcome Retired Master Corporal Denise Hepburn. A four time Bronze Medalist (swimming) at the 2017 Invictus Games, Denise will share the story of her journey from a time when she was recovering from physical injury and battling mental illness, to her victory in the pool; from being given a 5% chance of walking again, to standing on the podium; a journey which Denise herself calls “a celebration of athleticism, triumph and healing”.
