Belleville Transit Recognizes National Transit Driver Appreciation Day
Posted: March 14, 2019
Every day City of Belleville Transit Drivers provide excellent customer service across 247 square kilometers, driving 3500 km, serving 345 bus stops and carrying an average of 4000 passengers. On Monday, March 18 Belleville Transit is participating in national “Transit Driver Appreciation Day” to thank and recognize the drivers for their hard work and dedication.
“Our bus drivers are the core of our transit service, and ambassadors for the City of Belleville,” said Mayor Mitch Panciuk. “It can be a difficult job and we are thankful for their professionalism and outstanding service.”
Belleville Transit Drivers are the first face of the organization - they are the people the passengers know and remember. National Transit Driver Appreciation Day is an opportunity to recognize their importance to the community and to recognize their hard work.
“Day in and day out, for hours on end, your driver manages to keep a schedule, check fares, give directions, remember requests and more; all while safely maneuvering an extra-large vehicle through traffic, tough weather conditions and some really tight spaces,” said Paul Buck, Manager of Transit Services. “They deserve our thanks!”
On Monday, March 18 we invite you to come to the bus terminal through the day and take the time to show your appreciation for our bus drivers. There will be hot chocolate for the passengers and plenty of opportunity to say thank you.
We look forward to seeing you on Monday. Belleville Transit – LET’S GO!!
