Annual ridership on Belleville Transit has continued to grow year over year and for the first time, Belleville Transit, will provide more than 1 million annual rides, in one operating year.

On Monday, November 26, Transit Management, the Transit Advisory Committee, Belleville Council and media are invited to meet at the downtown bus terminal at 10:00 AM as we close in on this incredible milestone.

In 2017 Belleville Transit came very close to the 1 million rider milestone but fell just short with 996,794 riders. In 2018 Belleville Transit ridership continued to grow with increased enrolment at Loyalist College, the late night Route 11 pilot project, and the pilot bus on demand project boosting our ridership to the 1 million passengers and beyond.

“Annual ridership is a good measure of our progress but it doesn’t tell the complete story,” Paul Buck, Manager of Transit Services said. “Our ridership continues to grow as the City of Belleville prospers. Transit is a proud partner in its ability to support education, employment, economic development, tourism and recreation.”

With just over a month to go, our ridership will be over 1 million by year end. As passenger demand continues Belleville Transit will continue to work toward providing safe, efficient and economical transportation to the residents and visitors of the City of Belleville.

We look forward to seeing you on board the bus. Belleville Transit – LET’S GO!!
