City to Host a Belleville Housing Summit
Posted: March 14, 2019
Mayor Mitch Panciuk is proud to announce that a Belleville Housing Summit will be taking place on Monday, March 18th and Tuesday, March 19th in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre. The agenda with more details can be found online at www.belleville.ca.
An affordable housing crisis has been identified in our City. In partnership with Ruth Estwick from the Quinte Home Builders Association (QHBA) and Bob Cottrell from All Together Housing Corporation, Mayor and Council have identified a need to address the issues that are causing this crisis in Belleville and across the Quinte region. This two-day summit will discuss the issues at hand and provide recommendations to Council for solutions to tackle this crisis.
“We cannot allow this to continue,” says Mayor Panciuk. “This summit must ultimately result in a concrete plan focused on safe and responsible growth, with a commitment to take action before our housing crisis gets any worse.”
While this event is open to the public to view, seating will be limited. For your convenience, the Housing Summit will be recorded and posted to the City’s website following the event for your viewing.
