Dec. 11, 2019 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Fireplace Meeting Room, Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre
265 Cannifton Rd., Belleville, ON
The City of Belleville, with their consultant, Dillon Consulting, are pleased to invite you to an upcoming Public Information Centre (PIC) to introduce two new projects happening within the community: the Zoning By-law Update and Consolidation, and the New Affordable Housing Community Improvement Plan (CIP) and Update to the Downtown CIP. More information on each project can be found below.
City of Belleville Zoning By-law
While the City undertakes the update to its Official Plan (OP) work has begun to consolidation and its Zoning By-laws. As per the requirements of the Planning Act, following a new Official plan, the Zoning By-law must be updated so that it can implement the new policies outlined in the Official Plan. The City currently has three Zoning By-laws, due to the amalgamation with the Townships of Sidney and Thurlow. This project will create a single updated Zoning By-law for the City.
Affordable Housing CIP and Update to the Downtown CIP
CIPs are a tool used by municipalities to encourage revitalization and growth in the community through a series of programs, grants, and financial incentives. This project aims to create a CIP that specifically addresses the creation of new affordable rental housing in the City. This project will also provide updates to the existing Downtown CIP. At the end of this project, the affordable housing CIP and Downtown CIP will be combined into one master CIP along with an updated Brownfield CIP (ongoing).
The PIC will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn about the projects, provide input and feedback and serve as an opportunity to discuss any existing concerns. As there are two separate projects being displayed at this event, the PIC will be an open format drop-in event where attendees can learn about each of the projects, ask questions, and engage in activities to help provide important information to the project teams.
You are invited to attend and encouraged to provide your input. If you cannot attend the meeting and would like to know more information, please contact us or visit us at www.belleville.ca/NewZoningBylaw and https://belleville.ca/business/page/community-improvement-plan
