Mayor’s Week for the Arts

Mayor Mitch Panciuk is pleased to announce the first-ever Mayor’s Week for the Arts event from May 22 to 26.

The City of Belleville has brought together new and returning events as a five-day celebration of the arts. Residents are encouraged to attend as many events as possible throughout the course of the week. Public events include:

Mayor’s Concert for the Arts – Residents are invited to this free performance by Quinte Symphony at the Empire Theatre on May 22. The concert begins at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 7 p.m. Tickets are available while quantities last on the Empire Theatre’s website at: .

Arts En Plein Air – The 2019 Arts En Plein Air Festival runs from May 23 to 26 this year. Artists from across the region will set up outdoors to paint our historic downtown, the shores of the Bay of Quinte, the famous ‘Old East Hill’, the Moira River, and numerous other painting locations in the Quinte region. All paintings from the festival will be on display at the J.M. Parrott Art Gallery from May 26 to June 6. For details and to register as an artist, visit: .

Family Artfest – Join us on May 25 for Family Artfest at West Zwick’s Park. Enjoy family-friendly activities like rock painting, t-shirt art, crafts and live music performed by members of the Quinte Symphony. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission and parking are free, and all ages are welcome. For more information, visit Family Artfest on Facebook.
