Posted: November 21, 2019
Nominations are now open for Heritage Belleville’s Outstanding Achievements in Heritage Revitalization awards.
If you know an individual who has contributed to the revitalization of a heritage building or property within the city of Belleville, you can now nominate them online by completing and submitting the ‘2020 Nomination Form for Outstanding Achievement in Heritage Revitalization’ on Heritage Belleville’s webpage.
Nominations are divided into three categories: outstanding revitalization, landmark revitalization and preservation of historical significance. Each nomination must fall in one of these categories and the nominator must provide justification for the category they have chosen.
Previous award winners include: Darek Wierzbicki for the restoration of Studio 237, Richard Courneyea for the restoration of Signal Brewery, Maury Flunder for the restoration of the old Belleville Fire Hall building and the City of Belleville for its restoration of the United Empire Loyalist monument.
Nominations will be accepted until Feb. 3, 2020 at 4 p.m. Winners will be presented their awards by the Chair of Heritage Belleville at their annual awards ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 during Heritage Week. More details on the awards and Heritage Week events will be announced closer to the dates.
