Waterfront Pop-Up Project Open for Business Proposals
Posted: February 08, 2019
The City of Belleville is activating its multi-million-dollar waterfront assets on the Bay of Quinte with a new project that creates pop-up space along the waterfront. The first phase of this project will kick-off Victoria Day weekend for the summer season where four 10’ x 10’ structures will provide space for seasonal businesses to operate.
“This project presents a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to set up shop on the waterfront, whether that’s boat tours, bike rentals or retail,” says Mayor Mitch Panciuk. “The City’s vision is to support a vibrant waterfront based on recreation, unique services and entertainment – a true live, work, play environment.”
The RFP for this project has been issued and will remain open until February 27th for entrepreneurs who want to open a business that utilizes Belleville’s beautiful waterfront. Summer 2019 Pop-Up locations include Victoria and Freestone Point Parks, south of downtown Belleville.
“This project is important to me because we have entrepreneurs in the region that can activate our waterfront, creating more activities for our population and youth,” says Councillor Ryan Williams. “We look forward to seeing who applies in February, and to making our waterfront an incredible place to visit.”
