Loyalist (West) Secondary Plan Update |
The Loyalist (West) Secondary Plan provides the framework for the current and future development of the Loyalist (West) Secondary Plan area which encompasses approximately 950 hectares of land located east of Wallbridge Loyalist Road, south of Highway 401 and north of the Bay of Quinte. The second Public Information Centre (PIC) was held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Loyalist College. Bell Boulevard and North Front Street Corridor Study |
The goal of the Corridor Study is to understand the specific needs and opportunities in the study area and give the City direction with its current and future development as a mixed use corridor. This direction will contribute to the overall planning vision for the City and will help Belleville make well-informed decisions related to the future of the Bell Boulevard and North Front Street Corridor. Accessory Dwelling Units Update |
The City of Belleville is undertaking an update to the City’s Zoning By-laws to reflect provincial legislation changes introduced through Bill 23: More Homes Built Faster Act, and will hold two in-person Public Information Centres. Please join us to discuss and provide your feedback on the draft Zoning By-law provisions. Feedback received will help the project team solidify the proposed provisions, which will be presented to Belleville City Council at an upcoming Council meeting. WHAT: Two Public Information Centres for the Accessory Dwelling Units Update To help accommodate the public’s attendance while respecting social distancing protocols, project staff will be hosting two sessions and attendance will be limited to five members of the public in the meeting room at one time. There will be no formal presentations, allowing members of the public to attend at any time during the hours noted for either of the sessions to view the display materials, review the proposed provisions and ask staff questions. Additional comments will be accepted until April 3, 2023. Comments are welcomed by phone, mail, or email. Northeast Industrial Park Expansion |
The City of Belleville has retained T.Y.Lin to complete the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) for the Northeast Industrial Park Expansion. The expansion of the existing road network and municipal servicing for the Northeast Industrial Park is being undertaken to meet the growing manufacturing base in the City of Belleville. Public and agency consultation is an important component of the MCEA process. Two Public Information Centres (PICs) are being held to provide information to the public regarding the project and to answer any questions. The first Public Information Centre was held in September 2023 and the second PIC is scheduled for Spring 2024. The date, time, and location for the second PIC will be provided in future correspondence and will also be advertised in local newspapers in advance. College Street East Sidewalk Extension Project
The Project |
The College Street East sidewalk extension project will extend sidewalk from east of Jamieson Bone Road (municipal address 500 College Street E) to the east limits of College Street East. The proposed sidewalk will be constructed on the northern side of the road and will fill a gap in the Northeast Industrial Park active transportation network. The proposed sidewalk will be 1.5 metres wide and comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). Construction Impacts |
Efforts will be made to ensure there is minimal impact to College Street East. There will be temporary lane closures and temporary impacts to driveways. Driveway impacts will be communicated to individual property owners by the Contractor. Your patience in this matter is appreciated. |

The project budget for this project is $500,000. This project is partially funded by the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) through partnerships with the Provincial and Federal Government. |

Why is the sidewalk on this side of the road? Presently, sidewalk exists on the north side of College Street East and approximately ends at 500 College Street East. This sidewalk installation is an extension of the existing sidewalk to continue the pedestrian network in the Northeast Industrial Park. |

Village Drive Sidewalk Construction between College Street West and Cascade Boulevard
A Public Information Centre will be held as follows to provide information regarding the proposed sidewalk construction on Village Drive between College Street West and Cascade Boulevard. In addition to the proposed sidewalk, three-way stops are also being considered. A key map outlining the project location is attached for reference.
