The City of Belleville has initiated an affordable housing project on a portion of the land at the West Hill Green Space (former Queen Mary School site).
The property is envisioned to feature affordable housing units, while maximizing the amount of useable parkland. The project aims to increase the supply of affordable housing units within the City of Belleville to meet the housing needs of current and future residents.

City Staff commenced engagement for the project in January 2025. The pre-engagement process included letter notices delivered to residents and landowners within a 400m radius of the subject property, and notice signs posted on all street frontages along the subject property.
On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, City Staff alongside Sierra Planning and Management are hosting a public information centre at Prince Charles Public School at 75 Ritchie Ave, Belleville, ON from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The in-person event will give residents an opportunity to get involved in the site development process and provide feedback on the project based on parkland preferences.
After public engagement has been completed, the feedback received will be brought back to City Council through a “What We Heard” report with recommendations of next steps. |
