Fibre Optic Network ExpansionThe Government of Ontario has committed to improving high-speed internet services to residents and businesses in the Quinte area. Rogers Communications Inc. has entered into a public-private partnership to provide networking infrastructure by delivering fibre-optic cable to underserved areas.

Post-SecondaryBelleville's strategic advantage includes access to several colleges and universities in our city or within an hour's drive, including Loyalist College, Queen's University and St. Lawrence College. Loyalist College, located in west Belleville, has more than 4000 full time students with thousands more part-time students looking to upgrade their skills. Loyalist College has shown flexibility and responsiveness in creating and/or adjusting programming to meet the needs of local employers. Professors at the college include skilled trades people and other highly skilled individuals working hard to train our labour force for the jobs of today and tomorrow. Academy of Learning offers diplomas and certificate program at their Belleville campus and online. FNTI, in Tyendinaga, partners with Canadian colleges and universities to offer degree, diploma and certificate programs to Indigenous and non-Indigenous students. Industrial park upgrades and expansionThe City of Belleville is continuing the process of updating all services in our busy Northeast Industrial Park. Road and servicing improvements are complete and an extensive network of sidewalks and trails are being constructed throughout the park. This network will allow workers in the industrial park the opportunity to walk and ride throughout the park safely. In order to meet the needs of our growing manufacturing base, more than 900 acres have been acquired that will double the size of Northeast Industrial Park. Phase one is complete and work is ongoing to design and service additional phases to ensure there is a long term supply of fully serviced and zoned industrial land that will be ready to develop. |

Public transitThe City of Belleville has established one of the most comprehensive municipal transit services in Eastern Ontario. Servicing residents and businesses from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m., Belleville Transit will provide your customers and staff with the transportation they need to get to and from your business. In addition to a comprehensive service that covers the urban area of the City, it also includes an On Demand App to pick up and deliver people to their destinations. Highways and roadsThe Highway 401 corridor provides access to all large markets and Belleville has three interchanges to the highway for your convenience. Provincial highways 37 and 62 also provide direct access to northern regions of the province. Over 120,000,000 people are within one day's drive of Belleville. Rail - FreightCP Rail owns and operates a transcontinental railway in Canada and the U.S. with direct links to eight major ports, allowing access to markets in every corner of the globe. Belleville has ready access to miles of track as both rail mainlines run right through the heart of the city making shipping by rail accessible, fast and efficient. Rail - PassengerBelleville's new Via Rail station provides connections from Belleville to all major cities including Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. This modern station complements increased high speed rail service expected between Belleville and several large urban centres. FlightCanada's largest Air Force Base, 8 Wing Trenton, is located just 10 minutes away and is a convenient airport that can accommodate any size aircraft and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Toronto's Pearson International Airport is a short drive from Belleville and provides cargo flights to many U.S. and international destinations. Commercial Marine TransportA marine shipping terminal is located in Picton Harbour, 30km south of Belleville.
