Giveaway Days are on May 3 and 4!

Give household items new life and help reduce landfill waste during spring curbside Giveaway Days.

On May 3 and 4, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., residents are invited to place unwanted household items in good condition curbside for others to take.

Residents can place their giveaway items at the curb or road in front of their homes and clearly label them to indicate they are free. Keep items that are not part of Giveaway Days separate from giveaway items. Put giveaway items curbside by 8 a.m. and bring any remaining items back inside by 8 p.m.

Appropriate items to give away include DVDs, books, furniture, small appliances, kitchen items and construction materials, such as hardware, lumber and drywall. Health Canada’s Consumer Product Safety Directorate advises against giving away cribs, car seats, strollers, bath seats and playpens to avoid unsafe use.

Giveaway Days provide residents an opportunity to find new-to-them treasures while contributing to a cleaner, healthier environment by reducing landfill waste.
