A nation-wide celebration of all things gardening and horticulture.
The goal of this event is to highlight and celebrate the important contributions of gardeners, our local gardening organizations, horticultural professionals and local horticultural businesses which contribute to garden culture and the garden experience in our municipality.
In honour of the 2022 Year of the Garden, the City of Belleville’s Parks and Open Spaces staff have created several new and improved garden installations throughout the city including:
- Lahr Friendship Bridge and garden at Driscoll Parkette (31 South Front St.)
- Sensory garden at Collip Courtyard and Reflection Garden (along Bayshore Trail)
- Living wall installations across from City Hall (169 Front St.) and along the Bayshore Trail (east of Collip Courtyard and Reflection Garden)
- Pollinator garden at Memorial Gardens (241 North Park St.)
- Horticultural sculptures at Meyers Pier (Binky the Gnome), in the median along Dundas Street West near Bay Bridge Road (caterpillar and mushroom sculptures) and in Memorial Gardens (bee sculpture)
- Living truck at R.T. Potter Park (82 Dundas St. West)
- Painted wooden canvases along Dundas Street West (across the road from living truck)
- Mini A-frame living wall installations at Corby Rose Garden (210 Ann St.) and the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre (265 Cannifton Rd.)
- Zen garden at Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre (in progress)
- Arbour structure and sensory garden at East Zwick’s Park (11 Bay Bridge Rd.)
- Large planters at various locations throughout the city, including oversized flower pots across from City Hall

In addition to these new installations, our City parks also continue to be beautifully maintained for the public. A map of all City parks and green spaces is available online.
