The City is planning several Park Upgrade Projects within the 2022 Capital Budget and Parkland and Recreation Master Plan (PRMP).
2022 Parkland Projects
Jackson Woods Park - New Playground |
The City is planning improvements to Jackson Woods Park as part of the Parkland and Recreation Master Plan (PRMP). Improvements include installing new playground equipment, seating and landscaping. The selected exercise and play equipment is interactive and allows parents and caregivers to interact with children as they play. Project Timeline:

Shirley Langer Trail - Phase 2 |
The Shirley Langer Recreation Trail extends the existing Bayshore Trail to the East; providing connections to nature areas within the City limits and future connections of neighborhoods within the City. Project Timeline:Phase one was completed in late summer 2021 Phase Two includes the installation and construction of cross country skiing and snow shoe trails for winter recreation and rough terrain cycling during other seasons, trail and parking lot lighting, and asphalt paving of the recreational trail. The contract has been awarded to Trilith Contracting Inc. and is anticipated to be complete end August 2022. |
Riverside Park West - Pump Track and Disc Golf Course |

Clifford Sonny Belch Park Playground |
Once complete, this Playground project will include: 8 Pickleball Courts, 2 three-on-three basketball courts; Skate dot; large picnic shelter; splashpad; playground, trail establishment and paving, landscaping and tree planting, as well as other park amenities. Phase one will be completed Fall 2022 and includes placement of utilities, servicing, and design build of a washroom and servicing facility. |
Potter's Creek - Tennis Courts |
The City is planning improvements to Potter's Creek Park as part of the Parkland and Recreation Master Plan (PRMP). Improvements include installing new Tennis and Pickleball courts. Project Timeline:

Tom Gavey Alemite - Basketball Courts |
The City is planning improvements to Tom Gavey Alemite Park as part of the Parkland and Recreation Master Plan (PRMP). A basketball court with lighting will be installed at this location. Project Timeline:
