Property Tax Rebate & Credit Programs
The City of Belleville offers the following tax rebates/credits.

Low Income Senior Property Tax Credit |
Provides a $1,000 credit to eligible individuals in receipt of the Guaranteed Income Supplement under the Old Age Security Act (Canada) who are 65 years of age or older by Dec. 31, 2023. Applicants must solely own and occupy this property as their principal residents. Eligibility requirements may apply. Deadline for submitting applications is Aug. 31, 2024. Applications must be made on a yearly basis, and can be submitted in person or online through the Senior Rebate Application. Please Note: Applications only become available after Council has approved the Annual Budget each year, up to 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 of each year. |
Persons with Disabilities Property Tax Credit |
Provides a $1,000 credit to eligible individuals in receipt of Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) Benefits. Applicants must solely own and occupy this property as their principal residents. Eligibility requirements may apply. Deadline for submitting applications is Aug. 31, 2024. Applications must be made on a yearly basis, and can be submitted in person or online through the ODSP Rebate Application. Please Note: Applications only become available after Council has approved the Annual Budget each year, up to 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 of each year. |
Property Tax Rebates for Eligible Charities |
This program provides a 40% property tax rebate to registered charities that are tenants in Commercial or Industrial class properties. The landlord may be contacted by the charity to provide relevant information required for the City of Belleville application. Please Note: Charity applications are only available between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28 of each year. |
